QUICK START: Easy as ONE, two, three...

1) Adjust water chemistry as needed
    - Alkalinity: 30-120
    - pH: 7.2 - 7.6
    - If you live in a high-calcium area use a kealating
agent to reduce calcium levels to less than 300.
2) Determine the number of gallons of water in your pool
3) Divide the number of gallons of pool water by 450. This is approximately how many ounces of Rain Forest Blue your pool will need to start up. Add the required amount of product over 4 to 5 days, testing for copper levels daily to avoid over dosing.

Treatment Guide for Swimming Pools
Initial Treatment: Add one ounce of Rain Forest Blue Bacteriacide/Algecide per 450 gallons of pool water.
(click here to determine the number of gallons of water in your pool)

Add 2 cups of EcoOne Pool Conditioner per 20,000 gallons of pool water

Run Pump and Filter full time, backwash & clean filter each day for the first 24-48 hours, after the start-up, clean filter as needed

Continued Use:
Bactericide/Algaecide
1) Add weekly or bi-weekly: Add about 20-25% of the initial treatment

2) Monitor with Copper Test Kit. Maintain a 0.6 - 1.0 PPM copper level

Conditioner
Add EcoOne Pool Conditioner every 30 days

A Copper test kit is needed it is available online at http://www.ecoone.biz or at your local pool retailer

Rain Forest Blue Bacteriacide/Algaecide will start killing bacteria and algae as soon as it is put into the water. Your water may cloud slightly upon initial introduction it should clear in a day or so. This is a result of Rain Forest Blue as it begins to work. Rain Forest Blue binds with solids such as algae and bacteria, including minerals like calcium & iron. Removing them from your pool water by causing these particles to become large enough to be caught by the pool filter.

Continued Use of Rain Forest Blue.
One ounce of Rain Forest Blue Bacteriacide/Algaecide per 450 gallons of pool water produces the recommended copper level of 1.0 PPM. The amount needed for your pool is determined by pool size & water conditions. Add the weekly amount each week while monitoring the level with the copper test kit and adjusting the amount as needed.

Example: Start up on a 10,000-gallon pool requires 25 to 30 oz. of Rain Forest Blue Bacteriacide/Algaecide as the initial treatment or one oz. per 450 gallons. Re-test water after the first week if it reads 0.6 - 0.8 PPM, put in 7-8 oz. Continue to add the amount needed to maintain your pool at 1.0 PPM In addition to the Bacteriacide/Algaecide add 1 - 2 cups of EcoOne Pool Conditioner every 30 days.

Baquacil or Soft Swim Conversions:
Run your pump and filter 2 - 4 days to completely remove the residuals left by these products. The water may turn the brown or yellow, this is a result of Rain Forest Blue precipitating these dissolved solids out of your pool water. Operate your pool pump and filter 24 hours a day and backwash 1 – 2 times a day while maintaining a 1.0 PPM copper level will remove these residuals out of your pool water within 2 - 5 days.

NOTE: For best results converting from using Baquacil if possible drain your pool & start with fresh water. Remember all pools should be completely drained every 4-6 years.

Your pool may get cloudy if so use a pH or alkalinity adjuster and shock your pool. Maintain your pH at 7.2 - 8.6 and your alkalinity at 30-120 PPM. Shock your pool monthly with non-chlorine shock or liquid chlorine. Liquid chlorine will dissipate out of the water very quickly and is very good at dissolving solids that may cause your pool to cloud.

A chlorine shock should be used to prevent bacterial immunity you only need a cup or so (8-12 oz.) of liquid chlorine. Make sure the pool pump is on to insure the chlorine gets mixed into the entire pool.
